Michael Heck is an independent filmmaker based
in Brooklyn, NY. Since graduating from NYU's Tisch School of
the Arts in May 1999, he has completed his senior film Nathan
DuPree in 1999, the two-part prequel/sequel Nathan DuPree: The
Preginning in 2003, and Motel Room in 2005.
In 2008, he completed Puzzled, his long-unfinished junior-year
project from Fall 1997. Puzzled premiered at the Short Film
Corner at the Festival de Cannes in May 2009 and was
completed on DVD with a companion video retrospective, The
Making Of Puzzled: Ten Years Later, featuring new interviews
with fellow Group 8 film crew members Marta Bartholomew, Doug
Mirabello, and Reuben Monastra.
His latest film is I Will Possess Your Heart, a 7-minute,
black and white 16mm short that introduces Cliff and Sherry,
the unlikely couple whose anti-romance is explored in Michael's
upcoming feature project: www.iwillpossessyourheart.net |
